Why gender matters: a guide for community health services

Preventing Violence Together Partnership, November 2015

Why gender matters: a guide for community health services is a resource designed to increase the capacity of community health services to be gender equitable health service providers and employers.

The short animated film contains an overview of gender equity and it’s impacts on health, and ways that community health services can be gender-responsive.

The guide contains reflective questions, strategies and case studies, to support community health service staff to apply a gender-responsive approach to their work practice, with the intention of working towards gender transformative practice to prevent men’s violence against women.
