The Global Gender Gap Report benchmarks 149 countries on their progress towards gender parity across four thematic dimensions:
- Economic Participation and Opportunity
- Educational Attainment, Health and Survival
- Political Empowerment.
- Skills Gender Gaps – this year focus is related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Australia has slid even further down the global index for gender equality, now ranked 39th in the world.
The report found that ” records a slight widening of its gender gap on legislators, senior officials and managers as well as some reversal of progress on wage equality, resulting in a slight drop in rank.”
